Abstract

Linguistic intelligence affects an individual's ability to analyze the information received and translated it to other individuals. Individuals who do not have adequate linguistic intelligence will always fail to grasp the meaning of in the information obtained. Instilling linguistic intelligence in early childhood is important, because children tend to imitate what is seen, heard, or felt without understanding the meaning behind it all. This study aims to obtain information about strategies to develop linguistic intelligence in early childhood. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The subjects of this study were students of class A3 at RA al-Islam, Jamsaren, Surakarta. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation with interactive analysis techniques. The results of the study concluded that the strategy to develop linguistic intelligence applied at RA al-Islam Jamsaren, Surakarta was to involve students in various competitions, telling stories, conversing, and playing. The results of this study are very important, especially to improve children’s language skills, so that students are able to express their thoughts and respond to information from outside.
