development for children living in orphanages, as they need to be prepared to be able to meet their own needs and adapt to their environment without the presence of their immediate family. The development of independence does not always proceed optimally because children often show dependence on caregivers and a lack of independent habits. Studies on how orphanage caregivers directly shape children's independence are still limited, so more in-depth research is needed. This study aims to determine the role of caregivers at the Manarul Mabrur Orphanage in Semarang in implementing parenting patterns that foster children's independence. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that caregivers play an active role in fostering children's independence through independent activities and regular guidance.. However, the parenting process faces obstacles in the form of children's difficult behavior, so the administrators provide advice, reprimands, and even certain disciplinary actions. These findings confirm that the administrators' parenting patterns contribute significantly to realizing the orphanage's main mission, which is to build children's independence from an early age.
