This study examines gender relations in the management of gold mining in Pelangan Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency. The study aims to identify the division of roles between men and women and analyze the social, economic, health, and environmental impacts of gender relations in mining activities. A qualitative descriptive approach was used. Data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation during fieldwork in Pelangan Village in 2024. Informants included village and community figures, male and female miners, and residents involved in or familiar with mining activities. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification, with source triangulation used to strengthen credibility. The findings show a gendered division of labor: men are concentrated in physically demanding and high-risk extraction, transportation, and casting activities, while women are more involved in breaking, processing, grinding, and other supporting activities. This division creates functional interdependence but also produces differences in remuneration, access to decision-making, and control over mining income. Mining has improved household income, enabled spending on housing, vehicles, and education, and opened economic opportunities for women. At the same time, workers face occupational health and safety risks, while mercury-related processing and unmanaged waste contribute to environmental pressures. The study argues that functional complementarity should not automatically be equated with gender equality; fair access to resources, information, income, safety, and decision-making remains necessary.
