Parental separation can alter adolescents’ family relationships, social support, and opportunities to construct a stable identity. This study examines the existence of adolescents from broken-home families during an identity-crisis phase in Suntalangu Village, Suela District, focusing on how adolescents experience family rupture, how relationships with parents and peers shape their responses, and how parenting patterns are reflected in their everyday lives. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation between May 28 and June 30, 2024. Six informants were involved: three adolescents from broken-home families and three parents as supporting informants. Data credibility was strengthened through source, technique, and time triangulation, while analysis followed data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the adolescents’ experiences can be understood through a pre-condition stage and a condition stage. The pre-condition stage is marked by the importance of parent–child communication and peer relationships. The condition stage involves changes in social interaction in the digital era, broader social transformation, and escalation of risk situations, including early pregnancy, abortion, and forced marriage reported in the research setting. Parenting patterns varied, with detailed findings most clearly showing authoritarian and permissive practices, while the thesis abstract also identifies democratic parenting. The study concludes that adolescent existence is expressed through efforts to accept family change, adapt to new circumstances, solve problems, and improve oneself.
