Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. The article must be following the scope and focus of the journal
  2. The author uses a template that the Touristic Studies manager has provided
  3. Font uses candara
  4. The article contains at least the title, abstract, introduction, methods, findings, discussion, conclusion, and references. A literature review is optional.
  5. The title should not exceed 15 words
  6. The abstract contains only 150-250 words
  7. Articles contain at least 4000 words. Authors are advised to write from a range of 5000 – 7500 words in total (title, abstract, introduction, literature review, methods, findings, discussion, conclusion, references)
  8. Touristic Studies only publishes English articles
  9. Referencing style adopts the latest APA
  10. Plagiarism check is a must and is below 15%
