Abstract

Lembah Gumanti Subdistrict, Solok Regency, is one of the areas traversed by the Suliti segment of the Sumatran Fault system and is therefore at high risk of earthquakes. Previous studies have generally examined seismic vulnerability indices in coastal areas and sedimentary basins. This study analyzes the characteristics of soil dynamic response and seismic vulnerability indices influenced by the Suliti Segment of the Sumatran Fault using 20 measurement points. The objective of this study is to characterize the spatial variation of ground motion characteristics based on dominant frequency (fo), amplification factor (A0), and seismic vulnerability index (Kg) using the HVSR method, and to interpret the relationship between these characteristics and geological conditions and the Suliti Segment in order to create a seismic microzonation map for Lembah Gumanti Subdistrict. The data were processed to obtain values for the dominant frequency, amplification factor, and seismic vulnerability index. The analysis results show that the dominant frequency ranges from 1.3 to 14.8 Hz, the amplification factor ranges from 2.8 to 10.6, and the seismic vulnerability index ranges from 0.96 to 36.5. The high seismic vulnerability values in the study area are influenced by proximity to fault lines, lithological variations, and the presence of relatively thick soft alluvial deposits. The results of this study provide information on subsurface characteristics and seismic vulnerability that can be utilized in disaster mitigation efforts, land-use planning, and the design of earthquake-resistant buildings in Lembah Gumanti Subdistrict.
