Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) Increasing the activity of learning breaststroke swimming in class XI TKR students, Modern Ngawi Vocational School Academic Year 2019/2020, through direct learning models. (2) Increase learning outcomes of breaststroke swimming in class XI TKR students, Modern Ngawi Vocational School, through direct learning models. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The source of data in this study is the class XI TKR Modern Ngawi Vocational School students amounting to 33 people consisting of 13 female students and 20 male students. Data collection techniques with observation and assessment of learning outcomes and chest style swimming agility. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive based on a qualitative analysis with a percentage. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that (1) Direct learning model supported by video media is very good for increasing the learning activity of breaststroke swimming in class XI TKR SMK Modern Ngaw students. From the analysis results obtained a significant increase from cycle I, cycle II and cycle III. In the first cycle of student activity which includes dexterity and ability to swim breaststroke in both categories by 9.09% and 6.06%. In cycle II the breaststroke swimming skills of students in the good category increased to 15.15% while the ability of swimming breaststroke in the excellent category was 18.18%. In cycle III the breaststroke swimming skills of the students in the good category increased to 30.30%, while the ability of the breaststroke swimming in the excellent category increased by 51.51%. (2) Direct learning model assisted by video media, is very good for improving the learning outcomes of breaststroke swimming class XI TKR Vocational School Modern Ngaw. From the analysis results obtained a significant increase from cycle I, cycle II and cycle III. The results of learning breaststroke swimming in the first cycle in the good category is 6.06% of the total students who completed were 22 students. In cycle II an increase in the percentage of student learning outcomes in the Excellent category was 18.18%, while students who completed 25 students. In cycle III there was an increase in student learning outcomes in the category very well by 60.60% while students who completed 32 students.
