Studi Tentang Pemahaman Bahaya Narkoba pada Siswa SMK Negeri 4 Palopo

Abstract

This study was motivated by the high vulnerability of adolescents to drug abuse, including among vocational high school students. The objective was to analyze the level of understanding of the dangers of drugs among students at SMK Negeri 4 Palopo, focusing on four dimensions of impact: self, family, school, and community, nation, and state. The method used was a quantitative descriptive survey with a sample of 60 students selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using descriptive statistics with SPSS 22. The results showed that overall, 73% of students had a very high level of understanding (average score of 112.30). However, there were significant variations between dimensions: the highest level of understanding was for the impact on oneself (82% very high), followed by family (73%), community/nation (72%), and the lowest was for the impact on school (50% very high). The conclusion of this study is that although students' understanding is generally high, the educational approach so far tends to be more effective in conveying individual dangers than collective and institutional impacts. These findings indicate the need to develop a more comprehensive prevention program that balances personal aspects with social responsibility.
