Upaya Meningkatkan Teknik Dasar Long Service Bulutangkis dengan Menggunakan Metode Drill

The problem in this study is the low mastery of basic long service badminton techniques among 11th grade TKJ B students at SMKN 2 Palopo. Initial observations showed that out of 31 students, only 10 students (32%) were able to perform the techniques correctly, with an average score of 64, which is far below the Minimum Passing Grade (KKM) of 75. The purpose of this study was to improve badminton long service techniques through the application of the drill method. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, which was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were all 31 students in class XI TKJ B. Data were collected through process observation, performance tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed a significant improvement: the learning mastery percentage increased from 32% (initial condition) to 61% in cycle I, and jumped to 90% in cycle II. The average skill score also rose from 64 to 85. In addition to psychomotor aspects, there was an increase in affective aspects such as self-confidence, discipline, and active student participation. The conclusion of this study proves that the drill method is effective in significantly improving badminton long service techniques and is capable of improving the quality of the physical education learning process for vocational high school students.
