About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Educatio is an open-access peer-reviewed research journal that is published by Universitas Hamzanwadi. Educatio is providing a platform for the researchers, academicians, professionals, practitioners and students to impart and share knowledge in the form of high quality empirical and theoretical research papers, case studies, and literature reviews on education science. Educatio welcomes and acknowledges high quality theoretical and empirical original research papers, case studies, review papers, literature reviews, book reviews, conceptual framework, analytical and simulation models, technical notes about education science from researchers, academicians, professionals, practitioners, and students from all over the world.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. The review proccess uses double blind review system. Those manuscripts evaluated by editors to be inappropriate to journal criteria are rejected promptly without external review. Manuscripts evaluated to be of potential interest to our readership are sent to reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewer’s recommendation from among several possibilities: rejected, require major revision, need minor revision, or accepted.

Educatio is published twice a year (June and December)

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public, supporting a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Screening Plagiarism

Editors will run a plagiarism check using Ithenticate or Turnitin for submitted articles before submitting them to reviewers. If an article has more than 20% plagiarized content based on the inspection results, we will send the paper back to the author for revision. The editor will reject the manuscript if the article has more than 50% plagiarized content.

Publication Ethics

Section 1: Publication and Authorship

  1. All submitted manuscripts must go through a rigorous peer-review process by reviewers who are experts in the field of the manuscript.
  2. The review process is carried out by double-blind peer-review.
  3. The factors considered in the review are relevance, novelty, significance, originality (authenticity), readability, and language.
  4. Decisions included in this journal are acceptance, acceptance with revision, or rejection. 
  5. If authors are encouraged to revise and resubmit a submission, there is no guarantee that the revised submission will be accepted. 
  6. Manuscripts that are rejected will not be reviewed. 
  7. Acceptance of manuscripts is limited by applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. 
  8. No study may be included in more than one publication.

Section 2: Author's Responsibilities

  1. Author must certify that the manuscript or article has not previously been published elsewhere.
  2. Authors must state that the manuscript is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  3. Authors must participate in the peer-review process.
  4. The author is obliged to provide revocation or correction of errors.
  5. All authors mentioned in the manuscript must have contributed to the research.
  6. The author must certify that all data in the paper are authentic.
  7. Authors must notify the Editor of any conflicts of interest.
  8. Authors must identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscripts.
  9. Authors must report any errors they find in their published paper to the Editor.

Section 3: Reviewer's Responsibilities 

  1. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding the manuscript and treat it as important information.
  2. The review must be done objectively, without personal criticism of the author.
  3. Reviewers must express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  4. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that the authors have not cited.
  5. Reviewers should also contact the Editor in Chief if there are substantial similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers of which they have personal knowledge.
  6. Reviewers may not review manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest resulting from a competitive, collaborative, or other relationship or connection with the author, company, or institution to which the article relates.

Section 4: Editor's Responsibilities

  1. The Editor has full responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article.
  2. Editors are responsible for the content and overall quality of the publication.
  3. Editors should always consider the needs of writers and readers when trying to improve publications.
  4. Editors must ensure the quality of the paper and the integrity of the academic record.
  5. The Editor must publish an error page or make corrections when necessary.
  6. Editors must have a clear picture of the sources of research funding.
  7. Editors should base their decisions solely on the paper's importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the publication's scope.
  8. Editors may not reverse their decision or overturn a previous editor's decision without serious reason.
  9. Editors must maintain the anonymity of reviewers.
  10. Editors must ensure that all research material they publish complies with nationally and internationally accepted ethical guidelines.
  11. Editors should only accept the article if they are reasonably certain.
  12. Editors must act if they suspect infringement, whether an article is published or unpublished, and make all reasonable efforts to persist in getting the issue resolved.
  13. Editors may not reject articles based on suspicion; they must have proof of infringement.
  14. Editors must not allow any conflict of interest between the assistant Editor, authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.

Journal History

Educatio adalah jurnal bidang ilmu kependidikan yang dikelola dan diterbitkan Universitas Hamzanwadi. Sebelumnya terbit dalam bentuk cetak dengan nomor ISSN: 1907-3224. Selanjutnya, pada tanggal 21 Juni 2016 mendapatkan SK Nomor 0005.25279998/JI.3/SK.ISSN/2016.06. Dengan nomor EISSN 226-9998.

Jurnal Educatio telah melewati perjalanan panjang dalam proses pengelolaannya. Pertama, (sejak tahun 2007- 2016) pengelola berada di bawah P3MP (Pusat penelitian, pengbdian pada masyarakat dan publikasi) di bawah STKIP Hamzanwadi. Kedua, (tahun 2016-2018) pengelolaan diserahkan ke Fakultas FKIP (bersamaan dengan perubahan status menjadi Universitas Hamzanwadi. Ketiga (tahun 2019-sekarang) kembali diambil alih oleh P3MP.
Hal ini mempengaruhi banyak hal, seperti: (1) perubahan tim pengelola. (2) tidak tertib dalam jadwal publish yang sudah dibuat. (3) tidak terbitnya 3 nomor yaitu di Volume.11 nomor 2, Volume 12 nomor 1, Volume 12 Nomor 2. (4) kontak yang berganti-ganti yang berpengaruh pada eksistensinya di kalangan penulis, dan reviewer. (5) lemahnya tata kelola karena tim yang tidak berpengalaman dalam pengoprasian OJS. (6) mundurnya pengajuan akreditasi.
Alhamdulillah, sejak tahun 2018 akhir hingga sekarang, Educatio berbenah. Banyak hal yang dicapai seperti (1) perbaikan tata kelola, (2) memenuhi 3 issue yang sempat tidak terbit (3) pengajuan Akreditasi S6, (4) menjalin kerjasama dengan editor dan reviewer dari berbagai universitas ditingkat nasional dan internasional, (5) mengajukan reakreditasi pada Novermber 2019.
Semoga Educatio dapat beriringan dengan jurnal lain yang terakreditasi S2 dan memiliki andil dalam peningkatan publikasi di NTB khususnya, dan Indonesia pada umumnya.
