This study aims to analyze the existence of the Tebolak Beak Parade within the Bale Langgak Cultural Festival, identify the factors influencing its continuity, explain the transformation of the parade’s meanings and functions within the context of the cultural festival, and examine community strategies for preserving cultural values amid modernization. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with 15 purposively selected informants, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was established through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that the existence of the Tebolak Beak Parade is manifested in four main forms: the dulang parade as a cultural procession, prayer and pilgrimage rituals at the Batu Ngereng Cemetery, cultural arts performances, and a culinary bazaar supporting the festival. The continuity of the parade is influenced by support from local government, customary leaders, religious leaders, community participation, and integration with the tourism sector. However, limited understanding among younger generations of the philosophical values underlying the tradition, the tendency toward festival commercialization, and weak regeneration of cultural practitioners constitute major challenges. Although the parade has undergone a transformation from a communal ritual into a cultural attraction, the community continues to preserve its core elements through ritual practices, the transmission of cultural values to younger generations, and the strengthening of customary institutions. These findings demonstrate that the Tebolak Beak Parade functions not only as a cultural attraction but also as a medium for preserving the cultural heritage of the Sasak community, continuously adapting to social change without abandoning its traditional values.
