About the Journal

Nahda Medical Journal is a scientific journal published by the Faculty of Medicine of Hamzanwadi University (FK UHW), Selong, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The name "Nahda" (rebirth) reflects the spirit of the establishment of FK UHW on July 28, 2025, as a pesantren-based medical faculty, which integrates modern medical science with Islamic values in education, research, and community service. This journal serves as a publication platform for research results, studies, and scientific thoughts in the fields of medicine, medical education, public health, and health issues relevant to the context of coastal and rural communities in West Nusa Tenggara and Eastern Indonesia in general. Nahda Medical Journal is open to contributions from academics, clinicians, researchers, and postgraduate students from both UHW and other institutions. Focus and Scope Nahda Medical Journal accepts original manuscripts in the form of research articles, case reports, literature reviews, and concept/opinion articles within the following scope:

1. Clinical Medicine — the study of diagnostics, management, and clinical outcomes in various medical specialties (internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics-gynecology, and other clinical disciplines).

2. Medical Education — curriculum, teaching methods, educational evaluation, workload and faculty development, clinical competencies, as well as competency-based learning innovations in medical education institutions, including the context of newly established medical faculties.

3. Public Health and Epidemiology — determinants of population health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, health promotion, and health issues specific to island and rural areas.

4. Family Medicine and Primary Care — primary health care, continuity of care, and community-based health service models.

5. Medical Ethics, Health Law, and Policy — legal aspects of medical practice, clinical ethics, healthcare governance, and national and regional health policies.

6. Medicine and Islamic Values (Islamic Bioethics/Medicine) — the integration of Islamic values in medical practice and education, Islamic bioethics, and health studies from the perspective of pesantren.

7. Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, and Reproductive Health — according to the health priorities of the region.

8. Clinical Pharmacology and Basic Biomedical Sciences — translational research relevant to clinical practice.
