Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent to which "Make a Match" learning paradigm, which uses Wordwall media, affects the ability of SMA PGRI 1 Subang 10th grade students to recognize negotiation texts. This study was carried out because the learning process was less diverse, pupils had trouble understanding negotiating materials, and they had less interest in reading. With a quasi-experimental design, the study employed a quantitative methodology. Two classes made up the research subjects: the experimental class (X-3) had 31 students and was taught using the Wordwall-based "Make a Match" model, while the control class (X-1) had 31 students and was taught using the lecture approach. To evaluate the information gathered from multiple-choice assessments serving as both pre-test and post-test tools, the N-gain calculation and an independent samples t-test were utilized. The findings revealed that the control group's mean score rose from 51.54 to 62.32, yielding an N-gain value of 0.22, which is considered low. On the other hand, the experimental group demonstrated a notable rise from 48.74 to 83.74, resulting in an N-gain of 0.68, categorized as moderate. The t-test results further highlighted a statistically significant disparity between the groups, evidenced by a p-value of 0.000.
