Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the Genius Learning strategy on the ability to write anecdotal texts for students in class X MAN 1 Dumai City. The context of this investigation diverges form the low writing ability of students in Indonesian learning, especially in anecdotal text materials. The research uses an experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample amounted to 19 students of class X Regular 2 who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through anecdotal text writing tests before and after the implementation of the Genius Learning strategy and analyzed utilizing the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The outcomes revealed a significant increase in students' writing skills, with an average pretest score of 62.42 and a posttest of 91.05. The significance score of the Wilcoxon test of 0.000 (<0.05) indicates that the Genius Learning strategy has a positive and significant effect on students' ability to write anecdotal texts. Hence, the adoption of the Genius Learning strategy has demonstrated its effectiveness in developing students' writing proficiency, creativity, and active involvement in the Indonesian learning process.
