PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI BERNYANYI UNISONO DI MTs. MU’ALLIMAT NWDI PANCOR

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model on students’ learning motivation in unison singing at MTs. Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor. The study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population consisted of 262 seventh-grade students, while the sample comprised 131 students from classes VII A, VII B, VII C, and VII D selected through simple random sampling. Learning motivation data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had undergone validity and reliability testing; 14 of the initial 20 items were declared valid, with a reliability coefficient of 0.708. Data analysis included normality, homogeneity, and t-test procedures. The results showed that the mean motivation score increased from 50.202 in the pretest to 56.389 in the posttest. The normality test indicated normally distributed data, while the homogeneity test yielded Fcount = 1.33, lower than Ftable = 3.28. The t-test produced |tcount| = 12.86, which was greater than ttable = 1.969 at the 5% significance level. These findings indicate an effect of the STAD cooperative learning model on students’ learning motivation in unison singing. STAD provides opportunities for students to learn collaboratively, practice singing, respond to peers’ performances, complete individual quizzes, and receive recognition for group performance.
