Plagiarism Policy

Tamumatra: Jurnal Seni Pertunjukan does not accept plagiarism. The journal uses Turnitin to check textual similarity in submitted manuscripts and final versions prepared for publication.

Similarity Screening

The Turnitin similarity score for a submitted manuscript must not exceed 20%. A manuscript with a score above 20% will be returned to the authors for correction and resubmission. A similarity score is a screening measure, not a determination of plagiarism. A score of 20% or below does not permit plagiarism.

Originality, Attribution, and Permissions

Plagiarism means presenting another author’s words or ideas as one’s own, whether copied or closely imitated. Manuscripts must meet the originality requirements in the Copyright policy and must not be under consideration by another journal.

Identify verbatim text with quotation marks or block quotation formatting, as appropriate, and cite its source.

Use third-party text, images, and other material only when covered by an applicable license, permission, or legal exception. Obtain permission from the rights holder when required, acknowledge the source, and comply with any attribution and reuse conditions.

Editorial Assessment and Actions

When plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief reviews the manuscript and determines the action according to the extent of plagiarism and the following categories.

Minor Plagiarism

A sentence or short paragraph is copied from another work without taking significant data or ideas.

Action: The authors receive a warning and are required to revise the manuscript and cite the original sources properly.

Intermediate Plagiarism

Significant data, a paragraph, or a sentence is copied from another article without proper citation of the original source.

Action: The submitted manuscript is automatically rejected.

Severe Plagiarism

A substantial portion of an article is copied, including original results, data, formulations, equations, laws, statements, ideas, or methods presented in other publications.

Action: The manuscript is automatically rejected, and the authors are prohibited from submitting further articles to the journal.
