Open Access Policy

The Voices of English Language Education Society (VELES) journal is committed to providing open and free access to all published content to ensure the broadest possible dissemination of research. The principles of accessibility, transparency, and long-term preservation guide our open-access policy.

1. Free Access

All articles published in VELES are freely accessible to the public immediately upon publication, with no subscription fees or access charges for readers. The journal does not impose any embargo period, ensuring that new research findings are available online without delay and allowing timely access to scholarly contributions.

2. Licensing and Usage

VELES publishes all articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license. This license allows users to share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format, as well as adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use. Any derivative works must be distributed under the same license, with proper credit given to the original authors and source. Authors retain the copyright of their work while granting VELES the right to publish and distribute their article under the terms of the CC BY-SA license.

3. Benefits of Open Access

Open access increases the visibility and accessibility of research, leading to a broader readership and potentially higher citation rates. By providing unrestricted access to research, VELES supports the principle that knowledge should be freely available to everyone, fostering the advancement of education and scientific inquiry. Authors benefit from the broad dissemination of their work, contributing to a more inclusive and impactful academic community.

4. Archiving and Preservation

To ensure the long-term preservation of its content, VELES collaborates with digital preservation services, guaranteeing that all published articles remain accessible in the future. Authors are encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional or subject repositories in accordance with the CC BY-SA license, further enhancing the visibility and accessibility of their work.

5. Commitment to Open Access

VELES upholds transparency and accountability in its open-access policy, ensuring that all stakeholders, including authors, readers, and the academic community, benefit from ethical and high-quality publishing standards. By maintaining this commitment, VELES fosters an open, accessible, and equitable scholarly environment, promoting the free exchange of knowledge on a global scale.
