Malpractice Statement

The VELES journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all forms of research misconduct seriously. This includes but is not limited to, plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate authorship, and duplicate submission. The journal adheres to the following principles to ensure the integrity of the research it publishes:

  1. Plagiarism: All manuscripts submitted to the VELES journal are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin plagiarism detection software. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarized material will be rejected outright. Authors are required to properly cite and reference all sources of data and ideas that are not their own.

  2. Data Fabrication and Falsification: Authors must ensure that all data presented in their manuscripts are accurate and have not been fabricated or manipulated in any way. Any falsification or misrepresentation of data will result in the rejection of the manuscript and may lead to further investigation.

  3. Authorship: The VELES journal requires that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and the preparation of the manuscript. Any changes to the authorship after submission must be approved by all authors. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission for publication.

  4. Duplicate Submission: Manuscripts submitted to the VELES journal must not be under consideration or published elsewhere. Authors must disclose any prior dissemination of the research (e.g., conference presentations, working papers) at the time of submission. Any manuscript found to be submitted simultaneously to multiple journals will be rejected.

  5. Conflict of Interest: Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. This includes financial, personal, or professional affiliations that may be perceived as having an impact on the research findings.

  6. Peer Review: The VELES journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and validity of the research it publishes. Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively and to disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their judgment.

  7. Retraction and Corrections: If any misconduct is identified after publication, the VELES journal will take appropriate action, which may include retracting the article, publishing a correction, or issuing an expression of concern. Authors are expected to cooperate fully with any investigation and to provide the necessary information to resolve the issue.

By adhering to these principles, the VELES journal aims to maintain the integrity of the academic record and to promote ethical research practices. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold these standards to ensure the credibility and reliability of the research published in the journal.
